Abstrak

This research aims to describe the opportunities and challenges of the Dutch colonial curriculum in Indonesia. The Dutch colonial curriculum in Indonesia created opportunities and challenges that influenced educational development. These opportunities involve introducing the concept of formal education at primary and secondary levels, as well as increasing access to education for several community groups. The method used is a qualitative method to investigate the curriculum of the Dutch colonial period in Indonesia. The aim is to find out changes in the curriculum of madrasah Islamic boarding schools, schools during the Dutch era and the education evaluation system in schools during the Dutch era. The Dutch colonial curriculum in Indonesia created unique opportunities and challenges. While the curriculum provided access to education for some communities, there were significant gaps in access.
